Apple Unveils iPhone 16 Series: The First AI-Optimized Smartphone
Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 16, the first generation of its flagship devices specifically designed for generative AI.
The base iPhone 16 model, featuring a 6.1-inch display, starts at $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus with a 6.7-inch screen is priced at $899. Both come with 128 GB of storage and are available in five colors: black, white, pink, teal, and ultramarine. The iPhone 16 Pro (6.3-inch) starts at $999, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max (6.9-inch) starts at $1,199, with storage options ranging up to 1 TB. All models will be available starting September 20, 2024.
Powered by the new A18 chip, which is up to 30% faster than the iPhone 15’s processor, the iPhone 16 delivers the performance needed to handle AI-driven features. Camera upgrades include a 48-megapixel main camera and an ultrawide camera, while the redesigned Photo app leverages AI for enhanced functionality. Additionally, the iPhone 16 introduces a new Camera Control button, allowing users to quickly launch the camera, take photos or record videos. A preview feature lets users fine-tune framing and other settings with a simple swipe on the Camera Control switch.
